01DAY

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur

Arrive Kuala Lumpur International (KUL). Transfer to your Bukit Bintang hotel. Evening: walk KLCC Park, view the Petronas Twin Towers lit at night, fountain show, dinner at Jalan Alor street-food strip. KL Tower sunset deck optional.

02DAY

City Tour & Batu Caves

Morning: Batu Caves — 272 rainbow-coloured steps up to the limestone shrine, 42.7-m golden Lord Murugan statue at the entrance. Back to KL for Merdeka Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, National Mosque. Lunch at Chinatown's Petaling Street. Afternoon: Petronas Twin Towers timed entry (Skybridge on 41st floor, Observation Deck on 86th).

03DAY

Genting Highlands Day

Drive 1 hour north to Genting Highlands. Awana SkyWay cable car (Southeast Asia's longest) up to Resorts World at 1,800 m. Resorts World Genting indoor theme park, Chin Swee Caves Temple, Ripley's Believe It or Not. Evening at Premium Outlets Genting. Return to KL for dinner.

04DAY

Flight to Penang - Georgetown

Morning flight (or scenic drive 4 hrs) to Penang. Check into a Georgetown boutique heritage hotel. Afternoon: UNESCO walking tour of Georgetown's clan jetties, Khoo Kongsi clan house, Cheong Fatt Tze Blue Mansion, the famous street art of Ernest Zacharevic. Evening: hawker food crawl at Gurney Drive or New Lane.

05DAY

Penang Hill & Departure

Morning: funicular to Penang Hill (821 m), canopy walk, views of mainland. Lunch at David Brown's restaurant up top. Afternoon: Kek Lok Si Temple (Malaysia's largest Buddhist temple). Transfer to Penang airport for return flight to KL or onward.
