Drive 4-5 hours up to Munnar (1,600 m) via the spice belt. Stops: Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, spice plantation drive-through. Check into a tea-estate resort. Afternoon: Tata Tea Museum & factory demo, CSI Christ Church. Evening estate walk with tea tasting and cardamom-scented chai.
Morning: Eravikulam National Park (Rajamala section) โ home to half of the world's Nilgiri tahr. Park shuttle bus inside. Afternoon: Mattupetty Dam shola-forest lake, Echo Point, Kundala Dam, and Top Station (34 km, edge of the Western Ghats plateau). Evening: Kalaripayattu martial arts show (optional).
Drive 3 hours to Thekkady (Kumily). Afternoon: spice plantation walking tour โ cardamom, pepper vines, nutmeg, clove, vanilla. Evening: optional elephant interaction (ethical, no rides), Ayurvedic spa session, or Kathakali & Kalaripayattu at Mudra.
Pre-dawn boat cruise on Periyar Lake inside the Tiger Reserve โ you'll see wild elephants, sambar deer, gaur (Indian bison), maybe wild boar and, with luck, the elusive tiger or leopard. Mid-morning: drive 4 hours to Alleppey. Board your private kettuvallam houseboat by 1 PM. Lunch of karimeen pollichathu served on the deck. Slow cruise Punnamada and Vembanad Lake. Sunset mooring in a quiet coconut-lined inlet. Fresh fish dinner and overnight on the boat.
Dawn cruise before mist lifts. Disembark after breakfast. Drive 3 hours south to Kovalam or Varkala for a final half-day on the Arabian Sea. Lighthouse Beach or Varkala cliff. Afternoon transfer to Trivandrum (TRV) for your flight home. Or extend 2 nights at the beach.
