Morning 45-min TGV to Reims. Tour a Maison de Champagne (Taittinger, Mumm or Veuve Clicquot cellars โ caves up to 30 km long). Reims Cathedral (where French kings were crowned). Lunch with flute. Afternoon high-speed back to Paris, then TGV south to Nice (5h 30m). Or fly direct. Arrive Nice evening.
Morning walk Promenade des Anglais and the pebbled Cote d'Azur beach. Lunch on Cours Saleya. Afternoon: Villefranche-sur-Mer's deep blue harbour and old town, bathe at Plage des Marinieres. Evening: socca (chickpea pancake) in Vieux Nice.
Train or coastal drive to Monaco (20 min). Monte-Carlo Casino (gentlemen jacket required after 2 PM), Prince's Palace, Cathedral (where Grace Kelly rests), Monaco-Ville old town. Watch the changing of the guard at 11:55. Lunch Port Hercule. Afternoon Oceanographic Museum. Return to Nice evening.
Morning at leisure โ Matisse Museum or a last swim. Flight from Nice Cote d'Azur (NCE) or return TGV to Paris for the CDG connection home.
