Tour Highlights

Plantation walk & coffee tasting
Abbey Falls & Raja's Seat sunset
Namdroling (Golden Temple) at Bylakuppe
Talakaveri — source of River Kaveri
Dubare Elephant Camp by the river
01DAY

Arrival in Madikeri & Raja's Seat

Drive up from Bangalore or Mangalore (5-6 hours) into the cloud forests of Kodagu. Check into a coffee-estate homestay around Madikeri. Afternoon: Madikeri Fort and Omkareshwara Temple. Sunset at Raja's Seat — long valley views and garden promenades. Dinner of pandi curry and akki roti.

02DAY

Plantation Immersion

Early estate walk with the homestay host — learn the difference between Arabica and Robusta, shade-grown versus sun-grown, and watch coffee cherries being hand-picked in season (Nov-Feb). Lunch is a Kodava thali. Afternoon: drive to Talakaveri where the Kaveri river emerges. Return via Bhagamandala sangam.

03DAY

Bylakuppe & Dubare

Day-trip to Bylakuppe, the second-largest Tibetan settlement in India — Namdroling Monastery ('Golden Temple') with its 40-foot Buddha statues. Lunch at a Tibetan kitchen (thukpa, momos). Afternoon: Dubare Elephant Camp on the Kaveri — ethical interactions, river walks, and a short coracle ride.

04DAY
